Actually in 2012, Walker and Associates, name changed in January 2024 to Walker Joy Partners, was conceptually birthed as a direct marketing platform. Walker & Associates was birthed from the entrepreneurial heart of Freda Moore’s father, Frederick Walker. Throughout his life, if someone needed help with a project, he would connect you with the right person. And if he didn’t directly know the right person, he would connect you to someone who would know the specific person to get the job done.
Walker & Associates decided to pursue a more aggressive expansion strategy, appointing an experienced and credible executive management team to unleash the potential of an on-line direct marketing business. Corresponding with the placement of the executive management team. We partner with individuals who want to promote their business and for “non-profit” organizations. Our goal is to partner with other individuals and organizations to maximize their goals. We’re about “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” and making a difference in their community. Walker Joy Partners serves as a directory outlet to mutually connect consumers with ministries and Christian business owners. As well as making a difference with annual Scholarship Awards and offering bi-annual art contests. Fees paid by ‘Featured Partner/Members help to support the Scholarship Fund and bi-annual art contests.
We’re convinced if we operate our business with the principals found in Deuteronomy 6:5-9, we can indeed make a difference in our communities. By Grace, May 1, 2015 was Walker & Associates/promotingjoy247.com’s first promotion of a Gospel Musical program whereby all donations were delivered to the host church. We’re grateful to dedicate our business to God in honor of the late Linwood Newton, and Frederick Walker, and Mary Walker in their contributions to service. Linwood Newton, during his entire life, played for many Churches in the Tidewater area. Back in the day, many Churches didn’t have a Pianist. On a rotating schedule he would serve at many of these Churches as Pianist as well as Choir Director. After Mary Walker graduated from I.C. Norcom High, she owned and operated a hair salon, actually building her own unit. She later found her passion for serving students as a cafeteria worker at Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Virginia, turning the salon unit into rental property.
In 2018, the 1st Annual Scholarship Fund was initiated at I.C. Norcom High, Portsmouth, Virginia.
